Conquer Cancer Day
I was 17 when cancer first turned my world upside down. I was on the verge of attending college on a softball scholarship. I had my future all mapped out.
Then came cancer. While the physical effects of treatment were rough, the psychological impact was even worse. A big part of what got me through all of it was the constant support and dedication I experienced through my care team, including Dr. Molly Taylor.
Much of Dr. Taylor’s research focuses on the role of resilience in helping young patients achieve the best possible outcomes. And one of the organizations that funded her research was Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation. I’m so glad they did. Her work has had a deep impact on my own recovery and, ultimately, my life.
That’s why on Conquer Cancer Day (May 1), I’m asking people to make a gift to Conquer Cancer.
Any amount has an impact. Your gift could mean better care, better support, and better outcomes for other patients around the world. And it would mean the world to me.
